Time Management for Womans
Alas,
we never have enough time to implement each and
every intention. Oftentimes, we run around and
make fuss trying to do as much as we can, but
still a lot of things are unfinished by the
evening. What's the reason of such poor results?
How can we organize our day so that we always
have time for work and pleasure?
Here I'll
present to you some recommendations of German
psychologist Lothar J. Seiwert, who
managed to find the right answers to such
questions. Dr. Seiwert believes that his method
is more suitable for women than for men.
First of all, he
recommends making plans for every day. Planning
helps you think clearly and formulate all your
tasks.
The best time for making plans for tomorrow is
today's evening. If you do so, tomorrow morning
you will know what to start and what to end
with, and won't be trying to do a few things at
once (which is not a good idea at all unless you
don't care for results). Please note that you
should plan the use of only 60 percent of your
available time, leaving the rest for unexpected
things. (Remember that sometimes you are delayed
at work, your car breaks down, or something else
happens.) Analyze what your time is spent for.
Is it small talk? If some of your colleagues
talk too much, explain to them that you have a
lot of things to do right now. If your friend
calls you at work at the peak of your day,
promise her that you'll call her back in the
evening (and do that).
If you spend a
lot of time buying foods, probably you should
reschedule you visit to the store. For example,
think about shopping in the morning, before
going to work, when traffic is less intensive.
You have worked
hard for an hour? Then it's time for a break!
Have a cup of coffee, visit some web forum, or
read a magazine. But remember that you have only
10-15 minutes to relax! Feeling fresh again?
Then get down to business!
If you don't have a homemaker, it's not a good
idea to do everything on your own. Overburdening
yourself is so old-fashioned! You can always
share your housework with your family. Your
husband is probably as good as you at vacuuming
carpets, and your teenage kid can easily clean
up his or her room.
Now, the most
important part! Don't try to make some megaplans.
You can't do everything in a day or two. It will
probably only result in your getting upset and
even depressed, and you don't want that!
Therefore, remember that the evening is a time
to relax, praise yourself for today's
achievements, and start planning for tomorrow.
